The App came back, the very next day…

So simply deleting an app from your iphone is not enough. If you delete an app by clicking on the “x” you would assume the app was gone being that the phone asks you if you would like to delete that app. I deleted 4 apps yesterday from my iPhone. I just plugged it in to sync as I wanted to get some new podcasts to listen to at the gym in a few mins. The first thing the iPhone does is reinstall those apps. It has done this to me before but I didn’t really pay attention, nor care at the time. It is rather frustrating though that you have to go into iTunes and remove the apps as well. Make sure that you delete them completely from your iTunes Applications library or they will be reinstalled back onto your iPhone. It seems that your iTunes Library takes precedence over what is on your iPhone. It does not yet sync as nicely as Mobile Me does.

These apps not going away reminded me of this video and song from my childhood.

OmniFocus iPhone App Review

OmniFocus is a task management app for the iPhone. Omnifocus helps you get things done. OmniFocus works great for everyday life and flourishes when used by people who have a lot of tasks to manage at once. Capture tasks anywhere by entering text, taking a picture or making a voice recording. OmniFocus can sync with your Mac via Mobile Me or WebDAV.

Pocket Express iPhone App Review

Pocket Express is a news information service that millions already use and is now on the iPhone. Basically I would say it is like a digital newspaper with a lot of content. If you like news, sports, weather and more I suggest this free app.

Vicinity iPhone App Review

Vicinity is a great app to help you find something with in your general location. It provides one tap access to eateries, stores, bars, taxis and takeout food. On top of that it accesses Wikipedia to give you data on the location you are with in range of. Flicker and Panoramio integration allows you to access images from close by locations as well. Overall this is a great little app and well worth the $2.99 price tag.

Clowdy iPhone App Review

Clowdy is a simple to use Photo Blog for your iPhone. You can share images directly from your camera or your photo library. Clowdy is location based. You can also see pictures that have been taken around you. As of the time of this review there is no way to censor what is uploaded. I share what I found when I was playing with the app.

UPDATE 7.20.2008: I received this email from the developer of Clowdy. Thanks so much for contacting me Jeremy!

Hi!

This is really for Jerad Hill who wrote the Clowdy iPhone App review.

First, thanks for reviewing my app! It was fun watching you demo it.

Also, it seemed your major concern is the ability to flag photos as inappropriate. This is a big concern for me as well.. I want to come up with a good solution that is easy and efficient that works for everyone..

There is a lot of gray area in what is appropriate and what is not, but I am working on a system that will hopefully allow for quick moderation of the site.

I have been trying to manually delete offensive/pornographic images as they come up, but this won’t scale, so I have to develop something better..

Anyway, long story short.. I’m working on it! Expect something in the next couple weeks(or sooner!)

Thanks again for the review!

Pick and Choose Grocery iPhone App Review

Pick and Choose Grocery is the only shopping list you will ever need. It contains over 1500 grocery items built in, organized into categories, search as you type, add your own custom items and remembers your recent items. This is great, you can even email your completed list to your wife ;) My wife will kill me if she reads this.

Near Pics iPhone App Review

Nearpics does exactly what it’s name portrays. It shows you pics that are near you. The pics come from a image sharing social network called Panoramio.com. You can sign up for a free account and upload images as well as tag them with your location using built in Google Earth. The app does not really do much other then show you the pictures and allow you to view their geo location using Maps which is a native app on the iPhone.
